MC250266 – On April 2, 2021, Microsoft began rolling out the 2021 release wave 1 across their global customer base to enable new features and capabilities for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
Their focus is on a continuous improvement and delivery model to deliver features, improvements, and overall quality of the product. A part of this delivery model is to automate as much as possible, and to do it consistently across our global customer base.

How does this affect me?
One of the ways Microsoft ensures this consistent and automated delivery is by deploying the wave-based updates and applying them without the need for customer interaction. These updates are automatically applied to your environment and cannot be postponed. For more details on the date your environment will be updated, please see the General availability deployment schedule.
Microsoft has done this work to help you to drive the digital transformation of your business and are looking forward to engaging with you as you put these new services and capabilities to work.
How should I prepare for this change?
Their release waves happen twice a year. Microsoft highly recommend that you review the Release Plans and take advantage of the Early Access opt-in period to test and validate these new features and capabilities before they are enabled automatically for your users.
If you have any additional questions, please contact Microsoft Support.
