advertisment
Microsoft Search is adding the capability to find relevant Microsoft Teams, and Outlook conversations when searching in SharePoint and Office.com.
This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 68779.
When this will happen:
Microsoft expects this rollout to begin in early January (previously early December) and to be fully completed in mid-May (previously late April).

How this will affect your organization:
Users will now be able to search for Teams and Outlook messages from their favorite workplace search endpoints (SharePoint and Office.com). Results will be limited to conversations that they were part of and conversations that took place in groups and teams that they have access to. These search results will surface in a separate ‘Conversations’ vertical.
What you need to do to prepare:
You might want to notify your users about this new capability and update your training and documentation as appropriate.
