Modern SharePoint Web Parts Updates — Twitter Web Part

I am a huge fan of the Modern SharePoint experience. Is it perfect? Definitely not. However, the modern experience offers a responsive design, easy-to-use web parts, and is user-friendly. I have seen customers adapting to Modern SharePoint faster than they did to Classic SharePoint. The changes are following each other rapidly. The web parts delivered with the initial release of the Modern SharePoint Team Site are also evolving and regularly receiving updates. I want to keep you all up-to-date, so I decided to start a new series called Modern SharePoint Web Part Updates! Let’s continue with the new Twitter Web Part.

 

 

Before I continue, I really hope people enjoy this informative series about new and improved Modern SharePoint Web Parts. I did notice a new Web Part: Kindle Instant Preview. I am just going to pretend it doesn’t exist because out of all the Web Parts we actually need, this isn’t it. Let’s continue with the Twitter Web Part!

Years ago, in the SharePoint 2010 era, there was a rise of Social within the Enterprise. This was mainly due to the rise of Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. I actually wrote a blog in 2012 about adding a Twitter Web Part in SharePoint 2010. The solution was never really perfect and a bit unstable. In later years, we actually used to by a third-party solution to provide a Twitter Web Part. Those times are over, Modern SharePoint to the rescue! Microsoft released a preview Twitter web part. We have the following settings to our disposal:

The Web Part is massive in a single-column layout. My advice would be to use at least a two-column layout. I added the Web Part on a Communication Site and checked the SharePoint App. Unfortunately, the Web Part wasn’t visible. Hopefully this gets fixed after the preview phase. I am waiting for a Facebook and LinkedIn Web Part to continue the Social integration in Modern SharePoint.
